In 1967 King gave a speech titled "Beyond Vietnam," which Time Magazine denounced as "demagogic slander that sounded like a script for Radio Hanoi." The Washington Post said "King has diminished his usefulness to his cause, his country, his people."

Hmmm... where have I heard something like that recently? Oh, yes!
Sounds like something Romney Said to Paul in the last debate:

"I think Congresman Paul should not be reading as many of Ahmadinejad’s press releases"

It just goes to show, on this day of well deserved media adoration for Dr Martin Luther King, that sometimes the message is overlooked in the hype. I doubt CNN will run a bit on his anti-war stances, or mention how closely they are echoed by Dr. Ron Paul.

It should also give us pause to take time and meditate on the future.. How will they view Dr. Ron Paul in 30 years? And the people who stood with him in the early stages of the constitutionalist revolution? They may certainly remember him for changing how political campaigns are run, or for fund raising. He will be remembered for starting a new movement for limited government and liberty. Will the anger and vitriol of the mainstream aimed at the humble Dr. Paul be remembered when their documentaries are made?

Will you remember that you never lost hope and never stopped supporting Ron Paul?

Dr. Ron Paul is the ideal choice for Republican nominee for a host of reasons. His stint in Congress has proved that he is unwavering in his stances--that he will stand alone if it means doing the right thing. If you don't already know, here are some facts about Dr. Paul copied from his website:

He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.
He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.

Paul, who follows the philosophy of strict constitutionalism, shares the same values (and arguably the same wisdom) as the Founding Fathers. If the Constitution doesn’t mention it, he doesn’t support it, which means that everyone will have more freedom as individuals and that we can avoid the nightmare of the government poking its nose even further into our business.

Ron Paul took the advice George Washington gave in his farewell address. Washington advised America to avoid “foreign entanglements,” and Paul wishes to withdraw from the United Nations and opposes the idea of a North American Union. Paul wants to bring the troops home from Iraq and is the only candidate, Republican or Democrat, to pledge to bring them home as soon as he’s elected.

Dr. Paul believes we should close our military bases that stretch across the world. He says that our military is spread too thin and should be focused on protecting our nation’s borders rather than policing the rest of the world. Apparently members of the military agree, as he has more support from members of the military than any other candidate running for president. Despite his non-interventionist policies, Dr. Paul is not afraid to take action when it is necessary to protect our nation, which is evident by his in favor of the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Terrorists.

When Dr. Paul ran for president in 1988, John McCain told Kent Snyder (who was helping Paul at the time and is currently Paul’s campaign chairman), “You’re working for the most honest man in Congress.”

Some argue that Ron Paul simply cannot win the presidency. Why not? Dr. Paul has fared extremely well in nearly all Republican straw polls and beat John Kerry’s one-day fundraising record of $5.7 million by raising over $6 million on December 16, 2007. When Dr. Paul ran for Congress in 1996, Greg Laughlin (a former Democrat) was the incumbent Republican. Laughlin received endorsements from Newt Gingrich, George W. Bush, and even the National Rifle Association during the primary, but Ron Paul won the primary and went on to win the election.

His steadfast beliefs are not influenced by lobbyists or special interest groups. Ron Paul is on a mission to restore America to prosperity. Won’t you join the revolution?
